The Walking Dead (TV) - How Will The TV Governor Differ From The Comics?

Entertainment Weekly has an interview with David Morrisey, who will portray the Governor. He discusses how his version of the character will differ from what those who've read the comic books know about the character.
Morrissey took a few minutes out from fondling a big knife for one of our four new Walking Dead Entertainment Weekly covers to offer some insight as to how the TV Governor differs from the comic version. “We probably meet the Governor earlier in his journey,” says Morrissey “I think he has more complexity than in the comic book.” So instead of coming across a complete lunatic, as in the comic, expect to see the seeds of lunacy being planted right before our eyes: “The things that make him the way he is happen to him on screen. We see them happening.”
Season three begins on 14 October on AMC.

TVLine has an interview with Michael Ausiello, where he's asked the following question:
Question: Will a series regular die on The Walking Dead by the end of first half of Season 3?
Ausiello: I can confirm that a series regular will become zombie kibble during Season 3, but whether that death takes place in the first half or second half I can’t say.
So, no word on who or when, but we do know that a "series regular" is going to die during the third season, which starts on 14 October. Who do YOU think is going to take a dirt nap (or become a roamer)?

Sam Raimi Wins Lawsuit To Stop Unauthorized "Evil Dead 4" Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter:
The fight over "Evil Dead" rights erupted in part because of Rami's ambivalence until late.
In preparing Evil Dead 4: Consequences, Award Pictures went to the trademark office and argued that since Rami's first film came out in 1981, his company exhibited a lack of control over it, allowing it to be used as titles in 20 other motion pictures. Additionally, Award pointed to Raimi's comment in a 2000 book that he would never do a sequel as proof that the "Evil Dead" trademark was abandoned.
Renaissance challenged that assessment in a federal lawsuit.
Rami's company then attempted to put proceedings at a trademark trial board on hiatus pending the outcome of the civil lawsuit. Award objected, saying that it was having difficulty finding legal represention to defend the claims in federal court because IP lawyers were asking for tens of thousands of dollars in retainer fees to handle the case.
Award said that paying lawyers wouldn't be a problem if Renaissance hadn't interfered wtih Evil Dead 4: Consequences. Until then, MacCrae's company purportedly had a multi-million dollar financing deal with Anchor Bay, which was "destroyed" by "fraudulent claims of ownership of the rights to The Evil Dead."
Regardless, the inability to retain a lawyer in time to answer Renaissance's lawsuit paved the way for a judge's decision to grant by default a permanent injunction.

Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) - Feature: The Story

The film hits theaters on 14 September.

The Walking Dead (TV) - AMC Interviews Guy Ferland

For the full interview, please visit the AMC website.
Q: You've directed episodes in all three seasons. How does this season compare to the first?
A: There's a little bit of first season peeking through this season. In the first season it seemed like everything we were doing was new and there was a lot of discussion about who was going to live and who was going to die and what kind of tone the show was going to take. This year the same thing was introducing Woodbury. We were always asking the same questions: How self-sufficient do we make it? What are the citizens like? What kind of power does the town have?
Q: What's the secret to directing big groups of walkers?
A: There were a lot of instances this season where the zombie action was relentless but it wasn't spelled out in the script specifically. It would be written [that] Rick and the others... dispatch the remaining walkers, so it's my job to figure out what I wanted. Where is Daryl stabbing people once he's shot his bow? I'm always looking for new ways to execute the zombie action and I think we've done a lot of shooting in heads, so I was trying to bring something different.
Q: What are some twists have you've been bringing to the action?
A: Well, I really like to reveal everything -- reveal the zombies' geography and reveal the choice of how to kill the zombie -- all from the hero's point of view. So if you follow Rick when he has to deal with a zombie, you'll see I reveal it when Rick sees it. You want it to feel like a funhouse with lots of surprises.

Behead The Undead (Game) - Update From Skot

Go here for more details.
First off, thanks to those who've already backed this project. I appreacite your support. I've decided to use these updates as a way to share some of the game development process with you. For this first update I'd like to show you an idea I have for mystery boxes. Mystery boxes are destructible crates that produce power-ups which affect gameplay. For this demonstration I decided to use some recognizable props. This specific example is not in the game... For obvious reasons... But I thought it was a fun way to demonstrate the concept.
Thanks for watching. Please continue to support this project by sharing it with others. There's still a long way to go.

The Walking Dead (TV) - New Character Announced

Entertainment Weekly brings us the news that Dallas Roberts will being joining the cast as Milton, one of the residents of Woodbury:
“Milton is the details guy,” explains exec producer Robert Kirkman. “He’s the guy that works with the Governor, who is monitoring all situations and is trying to help the Governor make sense of this world that they’re living in. He’s not exactly a scientist, but he’s a smart guy that is trying to find out how zombies behave. Watching him do his little experiments is going to be a lot of fun.” (Zombie experiments? Here’s hoping Bub from Day of the Dead makes a cameo as one of the subjects.)
According to showrunner Glen Mazzara, in Milton we will see an example of someone finding a way to make himself useful, even if he is not necessarily a physically imposing presence. “We were examining, ‘How do people survive in this apocalyptic world, and what can people contribute?’” says Mazzara. “And we didn’t think it was plausible that every single character we meet is an efficient zombie killer. We just didn’t buy that everyone we know would be active and deft enough to kill every walker. We wanted to show how other people survive, and Dallas has come in and helped us establish that character. He just adds a lot of heart and humanity to Woodbury, which further complicates what that is. That is a real town with real people and real survivors. It’s not necessarily a group of bad guys.”
The third season premieres on 14 October on AMC.

Finally A Candidate With Brains!

For more details or to join his campaign staff, visit the official website.

From the press release:
The 2012 Presidential race is about to get more lively thanks to something quite dead – the news that A. Zombie, America’s first zombie Presidential candidate, is entering the race.
A formidable third party contender for the nation’s highest office, A. Zombie is slated to announce his candidacy at a high-energy rally on Monday, August 20, at Westfield Horton Plaza in San Diego. The candidate and his human wife, Patty Morgan-Zombie, will then commence a cross-country bus tour that will take them to six major U.S. cities including Tampa and Charlotte, where they will bring their pro-zombie message to the Republican and Democratic Conventions.
“My husband is someone who has dedicated his life and his afterlife to bringing equal viewing opportunities to all Americans,” said Mrs. Zombie. “He’s the right man to lead the fight to bring zombies to everyone in America, and he won’t stop -- even if it kills him, again.”
The A. Zombie for President Campaign is organized by AMC Networks, home to AMC, WE tv, IFC, and Sundance Channel. Satellite company DISH dropped these networks earlier this year because of an unrelated lawsuit and is now in the disadvantaged position of being the nation’s only major television provider without these channels and their popular shows.
A one-issue candidate, A. Zombie’s mission is to rally zombie fans around the country who don’t have access to these networks and shows to find an alternative television provider before the highly-anticipated third season premiere on October 14, 2012, of A. Zombie’s favorite show, AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” the most watched basic cable scripted drama series among DISH subscribers, according to the Nielsen company.
At present A. Zombie’s campaign juggernaut is slated to motor to: San Diego (August 20); Dallas (August 24); Tampa for the Republican Convention (August 28); Atlanta (September 1); Charlotte for the Democratic Convention (September 3-4); and New York City (September 5).

The Walking Dead (TV) - Interview With Eulyn Womble, Costume Designer

To read the full interview, go to the AMC website.
Q: Any big wardrobe changes this season? Do our survivors finally get a fresh set of clothes?
A: They never get a fresh set of clothes. [Laughs] It wouldn't be The Walking Dead if they looked clean... Maggie is much much tougher this year. She's left the whole farmgirl thing behind. Nothing cute or frilly anymore. Daryl is also changed. This season he has a poncho. It's not quite Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. It's got a little bit more edge than that.
Q: What's the biggest thing you've learned since Season 1 about dressing the cast and the walkers?
A: In Season 1, the walkers had a lot more personality. We made them individual. As the story progresses, we're trying to turn them into a herd, with one mind. So you'll find that when we dress them, the tops and bottoms match, so it's gray on top, gray on bottom so they melt away and blend together. In the cast, from the first season to now, they didn't know if this whole apocalypse thing was going to last. They had more hope that it would just fix itself and they were clinging desparately onto who they were, onto their jewelry, their fancy little earrings and sandals. Now they know they have to be prepared.
Q: Greg Nicotero told us that the walkers are becoming more decayed and putrefied over time. Are their clothes getting more decayed as well?
A: Absolutely, they are. If you look closely, you'll actually see pus [on their clothes]. We actually paint it on. We've got the clothes more tattered, but they're rotting from the inside. And I've said this before, I really do want the audience to smell them when you see them on camera. We try to make them as gross as possible.
